Our 2025 vehicle was Virginia Tech's fifth rendition of a four-wheel drive vehicle. We took inspiration from the previous year's drive train set up, but then completely overhauled our four-wheel drive system. Our main goal was to make the car more efficient; the result was completely redesigned bevel gears, front spool, and transfer case. The chassis also saw a redesign, canting the firewall back much further than previous cars, and extending the rear basket. In addition, the braking system was completely overhauled, including moving to a single, inboard rear caliper. With these changes, we once again were able to run a drivetrain set-up replicated by no other team while maintaining the second longest suspension travel among the competition field, while being one of the most reliable vehicles our team has ever produced.
